The RICS Home Survey Standard confirms all level three, and many level two surveys require a ‘broader and deeper technical knowledge’ and members ‘must decline the instruction if the subject property type is beyond their knowledge and skill level’. This three-module practical course identifies some of the likely required knowledge, understanding and competence, thereby enabling you to improve your skills in a structured manner. There is an optional later 4th assessment phase available to help you get it right in practice.

Session 2: ‘Practical Survey Day’ – on site inspection and discussions, inspecting to a broader and deeper technical level, collecting the evidence in a consistent manner, reflecting on the information. (6 hours)
Session 3: ‘Survey reporting’ – deciding on the correct condition rating, consistent reporting for different levels, course assessment. (4 hours)
