Residential surveyors must know about the Home Survey Standard (HSS), which sets ‘mandatory requirements for RICS members and RICS-regulated firms in the UK that deliver residential property surveys and additional Services at all levels’. Using the HSS properly gives clients better reports, which is a benefit to them and the surveyor. This course shows you how to do that.
Content:
Instructions and ToE, desktop study, suitable equipment, dealing with ‘additional risk properties’ and technical competence, extent of inspection and reporting for different elements at levels 2 & 3, risks to occupants and property, working with the legal adviser, energy does matter, case studies & examples to demonstrate best practice.
Objectives:
Introduce delegates to fundamental HSS 2nd edition requirements including surveyor competence;
Demonstrate how this information can be used in practice to ensure a consistently compliant service; and
Practice, by using case studies and discussion, how to provide satisfactory reports to clients.
